The Committee on Data Science (CODAS) at the University of Chicago offers several graduate and undergraduate degree programs.
PhD in Data Science
The PhD in Data Science was developed to train all students in the mathematical foundations of data science, responsible data use and communication, as well as advanced computational methods.
The MS in Data Science (MSDS) has been developed for students interested in pursuing a research career in data science and is taught by renowned faculty from the departments of statistics, computer science, and many others across the university.
Offering full-time, part-time, and online options, the MS in Applied Data Science program is highly applied in nature, integrating business strategy, project-based learning, simulations, case studies, and specific electives addressing the analytical needs of various industry sectors.
The undergraduate program offers BA and BS degrees, as well as a minor. The curriculum emphasizes both foundational topics in data science, statistics and computer science and has focus on responsible data use, communicating with data, and experiential learning.
